SAM KERR'S SECOND NIKE MERCURIAL SUPERFLY SIGNATURE BOOT IS AS SPECIAL AS HER

The Aussie's back with another Mercurial Superfly, and it comes with a message every back line should probably take note of: "Become the player the world can't stop." Signature boots are still rare in the women’s game, so a second one in a row needed to be special – and this one certainly is.
Nike's calling the colourway Green Glow/Black, but there's a lot more going on than that suggests. The base is a fresh mint, then an iridescent gradient washes over the upper, flicking between light blue, purple and pink depending on where the light hits. It's borderline holographic, and it'll probably look even better under floodlights than it does in the press shots. The big lateral Swoosh goes deep purple, close to black from certain angles, with a glowing pink outline to make it pop. Flip the boot over and the translucent soleplate flashes orange and red, a nice little surprise for anyone paying attention.
It suits her down to the ground. Kerr's the type who lurks on the last defender's shoulder, reads the game a split second before everyone else and turns the tiniest gap into a chance. That's the whole Break 'Em idea in a nutshell, celebrating the weapons players use to pull opponents apart, and hers is explosive speed. Nike's captured it with a concept called Get Dusted, picturing reddish-brown sand erupting and trailing around Kerr as she accelerates, like she's already vanished into the distance. The Superfly 11 Elite is built to make that happen, with springy Air Zoom cushioning, ZoomX foam for the energy return and a Flyweave Ultra upper that locks her in when she's flat out.
There's an 'SK' on the heel and on the Air Zoom unit in the sole, which defenders are probably sick of the sight of already. It's usually the last thing they see before there's nothing left but a cloud of dust.
