PUMA'S ARRIVAL PACK HAS LANDED, AND THE ULTRA NITRO 7 IS STEALING THE HEADLINES

Published: 30/07/2026 | By: Alex Courbat

A new season means new boots, and PUMA isn't easing itself into things. The Arrival Pack is exactly what it sounds like, the brand's opening statement for the campaign ahead. Three silos. Three very different identities. One collection designed to make a bit of noise.

And if there's one boot grabbing the attention, it's the ULTRA NITRO 7.

For years, NITROFOAM Elite has been one of the standout technologies in PUMA's running line-up. Now it's finally made the jump to football. Built into both the sockliner and footbed, the nitrogen-infused foam compresses and rebounds under pressure, giving every push-off a little more snap when you're trying to leave someone in the dust. It's the first football boot to feature the technology, and the headline innovation behind what PUMA is calling its fastest boot yet.

Of course, speed isn't just about what's under your feet. The ULTRAWEAVE upper has been reworked to lock you in without adding weight, GripControl Pro returns with redesigned grip zones for cleaner contact on the ball, while the SPEEDSYSTEM 2.0 outsole and updated FastTrax 2.0 stud pattern are all geared towards quicker reactions and sharper changes of direction. It feels like every detail has been looked at through the same lens. Go faster.

There are a couple of genuinely meaningful firsts for the silo too. A laceless version joins the line-up for players who like an uninterrupted strike zone, while PUMA has introduced a dedicated women's fit rather than simply scaling down the men's model. It's a proper redesign, shaped around the anatomy of the female foot, and it's good to see that level of attention finally becoming the norm rather than the exception.

Visually, subtle isn't on the menu. Finished in Ultra Red, PUMA Black and PUMA White, the ULTRA NITRO 7 stands out to say the least. But again, if you're going to launch a new flagship speed boot, you may as well make sure everyone notices.

The FUTURE 9 and KING 20 complete the pack, although they're playing a slightly different role this time around. Both arrive in a clean Sugared Almond base, a nice contrast to the ULTRA's all-action aesthetic.

The FUTURE 9 keeps things playful, pairing woven textures with flashes of Ultra Red through the PWRTAPE detailing. It's still the choice for players who see defenders as problems waiting to be solved. The KING 20 takes the more understated route, with its black Formstrip outlined in Ultra Red giving it just enough edge without shouting for attention. Worth noting though, neither boot is new. This is a fresh colour update rather than a new generation, so if you've already got either silo in your bag, you're looking at a new look rather than new tech.

To sum this pack up is pretty easy. Each boot knows exactly who it's for. If your game is built around burning full-backs and attacking space before anyone else sees it, the ULTRA NITRO 7 is the obvious choice. If you live between the lines, slipping passes through gaps that probably shouldn't exist, that's FUTURE territory. And if your game is all about timing, touch and making football look deceptively simple, the KING still does what the KING has always done.

Three boots. Three personalities. One very confident way to kick off the season.
